Secret Oral Teachings

The Secret Oral Teachings in Tibetan Buddhist Sects,
by Alexandra David-Neel and Lama Yongden

Alan Watts used to call this, "the I told you so book". That is, many Buddhists would listen to his talks and find what he said unbelievable. That is, Watts taught Buddhist philsophy, but he had very little regard for the "ism" aspects of it. This book, and Watt's talks, dealt more with the esoteric side.

If you listen to his talks, you will find that the moralism have been washed out. That is, he is completely accepting of human nature and tendencies.

Watts was very close to the mythologist Joseph Campbell.
